My special interests focus on the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and preventative care in the primary care setting.  Teaching has been an important part of my practice having trained a number of Nurse Practitioners and future physicians, addressing the shortage of medical providers in the area.  I also support medical education by training medical scribes who have interest in medicine and serve on scholarship committees providing resources for local high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field.

I believe collaboration and patient education is key to patient empowerment over disease states and maintaining good health.

I balance the practice of medicine by devoting quality time with my family.  My passions include travel, history, and photography.
